Design

The brief for Leinster Living presented an opportunity to find a fresh approach to what tends to be a challenging building typology, the New Zealand apartment and townhouse development. Finding economical ways of creating a distinctive and functional space for living in the urban fabric has been the driver behind this project.

A focus on the integration of walkways and laneways creates a secure gated village made for walking, cycling and sharing, with greater opportunities for neighbours to bump into each other. Outdoor garden spaces are extended beyond private fence lines to increase the opportunity for neighbourhood connections and interactions. Being a private back section the considered north facing facade blends seamlessly with the surrounding residential environment.

Managing Director

Philip has a strong background in construction with 20 years’ experience that began with a certificate in carpentry in 2003.

For the next decade Philip worked as a building contractor in the Nelson region, predominantly working on difficult multi-level hillside properties before switching to construction management responsible for the delivery of medium density housing in Auckland and Christchurch.

In 2014, Philip started Virtue Group (in partnership), a company that both developed and built units across Christchurch. Over the following 4 years, Virtue Group delivered 187 residential units in a mix of 1,2 and 3 bedroom apartments and terrace homes. In 2018 he moved to Auckland and founded Titus Group.

Philip’s strengths are in identifying sites suitable for the Titus product; creating development propositions that appeal to Council, contractors and future residents; engaging quality consultants; financial management from feasibility studies through to contract management; and at a higher level, creating value for every stakeholder in a project.
